The IRSA Development Group (IDG) is a multinational collaboration among six Arctic/Antarctic nations and world-leading innovators in advanced technologies for the polar-regions. IDG is a consortium consisting of Andøya Space Center, Boeing, C-Core, Karl Osen, MDSI, Scott Polar Research Institute, Viasat, and VTT. IDG is developing a persistent monitoring system for the Arctic regions called IRSA (Integrated Remote Sensing for the Arctic). The objective of IRSA is a persistent monitoring system for the Arctic regions.
Andøya Space Center (ASC) is a service provider for sounding rockets, balloons, unmanned aircrafts and scientific ground-based instrumentation communities worldwide. Located in northern Norway, it is the worlds northernmost permanent launch facility for sounding rockets, with over 55 years of operations and launch of more than 1200 sounding rockets since 1962. ASC is owned 90 % by the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and 10 % by Kongsberg Defence and Aerospace. ASC has four subsidiaries; Andøya Test Center (ATC), Andøya Spaceport (ASP), National Center for Space-Related Education (NAROM) and Norsk Dronesenter. ASC is ISO9001-certified.
